Income Tax Department launched a new scheme for taxpayer where there will be no physical interface with Income Tax officials.

Govt aims at creating a transparent, simple and faceless assessment system which will reduce the hassle of Taxpayers as they will able to reply and upload the documents on Income tax portal.

Further officers assesing the case will be selected randomly.Nirmala Sitharaman told the parliament that existing system involves a lot of undeserious practices which is due to personal interaction of Taxpayer and Department Officals.

To eliminate such practices and to give country a new transparent system the revenue secretary launced NeAC ( National E- Assessement centre)

How will E-Assessment  work? 

1. Assessee will receive a notice from Income Tax Department. Notice will get received on registered mail Id and Registered Mobile no.
2. Assessee will have to reply with in 15 days from receving the notice through Online portal. Further, the documents has be uploaded online on Income Tax portal. The assessee would not be  required to visit physically, all the communication will be done online.
3. on submitting the documents, assessee will receive an acknowledgement from NeAC.      (National E-Assessment Centre)
